We offer a range of services which cover all aspects of Wood-burning Stoves and Fireplaces:
We offer specialist CCTV inspection cameras for surveying and fault finding within the flue. All findings are analysed and reported to the customer, allowing easy inspection of your fireplace and reduced risk of faults accumulating.
Minor Building Work
Southern Stoves can undertake repair work on your chimney, stack or fireplace that may involve structural calculations or have structural implications. We can also build brand new chimneys and /or stacks and we are able to work from pre-designed plans or arrange for plans to be drawn up. We fully understand the requirements when working on both old and new properties.
If you have a twin wall flue system we can create a 'false chimney breast' within your room giving you the feel that your stove is within a fireplace.
Our team of experts will make a full assessment during the site survey and will offer a detailed overview of the procedure, so you are comfortable with the work involved. A detailed quotation will then be issued. Contact us today for more information.
Chimney work and flues
Additionally, we provide a supply and fit service of new solid fuel and gas liners. We can still undertake an assessment of existing liners to see if these meet current requirements and advise accordingly.
We can accommodate chimneys that are partially missing by either building on the chimney section or installing a sectional twin wall flue system. Our supply and fit service can also be used on twin wall flue systems that require installation when a chimney is not present.
We offer additional services such as capping off/closing chimneys and annual sweeping. For more information on our commercial chimney, stack and fireplace repairs and building options, please take a look at our minor building work section.
Specialist Equipment for Access
We have all the necessary training and certifications for the use of specialist access equipment, including ladders, scaffold and cherry pickers. Initially, our specialist engineers will assess the specialist equipment required during our site survey. The use of specialist equipment is kept to a minimum to help reduce the cost to your business, our site survey is essential in establishing the essential requirements.
Due to the strict regulations and requirements when it comes to installing chimneys into thatched properties, we work closely with specialist independents and advisory companies on your behalf, to enhance your safety value.
Insurance companies now request that chimneys are lined in accordance with HETAS/building regulations and by a registered HETAS installer. We are registered with HETAS and can provide the correct certification, although we recommend checking the exact requirements with your insurance company.
Please get in touch with our specialist commercial team to discuss any requirements you may have.
