We offer a range of services which cover all aspects of Wood-burning Stoves and Fireplaces:
We offer specialist CCTV inspection cameras for surveying and fault finding within the flue. All findings are analysed and reported to the customer, allowing us to easily inspect your fireplace and reduce the risk of faults accumulating.
Minor Building Work
Southern Stoves can undertake repair work on your chimney, stack or fireplace. This may involve structural calculations or have structural implications. We are able to arrange for building plans to be drawn up, build brand new chimneys and /or stacks, as well as completing projects from pre-designed plans. If you have a twin wall flue system we can create a 'false chimney breast' within your room giving you the feel that your stove is within a fireplace.
Our team of experts will make a full assessment during the site survey and will offer a detailed overview of the procedure, so you are comfortable with the work involved. A quotation will then be issued.
Chimney work and flues
Additionally, we provide a supply and fit service of new solid fuel and gas liners. We also undertake assessments of the existing liners to see if these meet current requirements and will advise you accordingly.
We can accommodate chimneys that are partially missing by either building the chimney section or installing a sectional twin wall flue system. Moreover, we can provide supply and fit service of a twin wall flue system which is a system that is installed when a chimney is not present.
We offer additional services such as capping off/closing chimneys and annual sweeping. For more information on our chimney, stack and fireplace repairs and builds – please see our minor building work section.
Specialist Equipment for Access
We have all the necessary training and certifications for the use of access equipment including ladders, scaffold and cherry pickers. Initially, our specialist engineers will assess on the site survey if any specialist equipment will be required. We aim to keep the use of the equipment minimal to reduce costs for you, therefore a site survey is essential to establish the exact equipment you would require.
Due to the strict regulations and requirements when it comes to installing chimneys into thatch properties, we work closely with specialist independents and advisory companies on your behalf, to enhance your safety value.
Insurance companies have started to request that correct certification is provided, so chimneys should be lined in accordance with HETAS/building regulations and installed by a registered HETAS installer. Although you should check with your insurance company for their exact requirements.
Please feel free to get in touch with our specialist services team to discuss any requirements you may have.
